Margaret Bruce

Margaret is a licensed professional counselor, who specializes in child development and marriage and family therapy. She has been in private practice in Conroe and The Woodlands, Tx, for the past 13 years, and has presented workshops to community organizations and corporate offices, on workplace issues, parenting, anger and stress management. She has served on the board of directors for Family Outreach of Montgomery County, and serves as the mental health consultant for Head Start in several counties in Texas. She is currently an adjunct professor at Montgomery College teaching Psychology and Human Services to a diverse population. She has served as a missionary in Jamaica, and New Zealand and continues to serve Christ in the community as a Christian counselor, trainer and educator.

Mary has a B.S. in education from the University of North Texas State, a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston, a M.A. in counseling from Sam Houston State University and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Sam Houston State University. She has worked in the counseling field since 1999 as a school counselor, counselor educator, counselor supervisor, and a private practitioner. Her credentials include certification in school counseling, licensure as a Professional Counselor-Supervisor, and specialization as a Registered Play Therapist. As a clinician, Mary works with children, adolescents, individuals, families, and groups.

 
Kellie Cole

Clinical Manager, Therapist. Kellie Cole is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and a Registered Play Therapy-Supervisor. She has over 15 years of experience working with families in a variety of counseling settings. She has specialized training in play therapy, abuse issues, grief, crisis intervention, domestic violence, parenting, marriage therapy, and family therapy. She has been an adjunct professor at The University of North Texas and has served on numerous Boards of Directors in the professional counseling field. She has presented professionally at local, state, and national conferences.

In May 2001 Kellie, her husband, and their two children moved to The Woodlands and soon after joined The Woodlands United Methodist Church. As a church member, Kellie has been in leadership with Renew Bible study, taught Sunday School and VBS, as well as served as a neighborhood care giver. She joined Grace Point Marriage and Family Center in the fall of 2005. Kellie believes that through the transforming power of God’s healing grace people can find peace and restoration in their lives and relationships. She believes that her values do impact the counseling relationship and that integrating spiritual and psychological concepts is the best approach to helping people. Margie Jordan has a B. S. in Business Administration from Boston University (1977) and is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern who graduated with honors from Sam Houston State University’s Counseling program with an emphasis on marriage and family counseling. In addition to the education in counseling, Margie is finishing her certificate of Graduate Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary. She is one of the original counselors at the center and did her training with Michael Smalley. She has been an active member of the Methodist church for thirty years and has led numerous Bible studies and Sunday school classes. Her primary interests are in marriage and family counseling although she is trained in individual, couple, family, and group counseling. She has been married for 27 years and has three grown children and brings a wealth of life experiences to her profession.

 
Lyndsay Pegeus

Lyndsay is an LPC-intern, with her Master’s of Education degree in Counseling. Her undergraduate work includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, followed by graduate work at the University of Houston. During that time, she volunteered in high schools, child care, and churches to expand her experience in providing peer counseling. Lyndsay completed her practicum work at the Julianna Poor Memorial Counseling Center. Upon receiving her licensure, she began working at a mental health hospital, counseling children, adolescents, and their families. Lyndsay was thrilled to join the Grace Point Marriage and Family Center, so she could combine her passion for God with her passion for helping others. Lyndsay believes that God is the Healer of all wounds and she is humbled to be used as His tool in the healing process. She feels called to work with children, adolescents, and young women. Lyndsay also practices play therapy and leads a group for young women with self-harm issues.

 
Stew Grant

Stew has been a pastor for ten years as an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. He has led many support and recovery groups with topics covering: anger, grief, addictions, divorce, marital issues, cancer, and chronic pain. Stew and his wife Shelli have led premarital workshops for over 7 years. Their passion is helping couples have a great start to marriage and overcome difficulties. Stew has worked with numerous couples overcome infidelity, addictions, and dysfunctional patterns of communication. Stew is currently working on a doctoral thesis in Marriage and Family Therapy at Denver Seminary scheduled to finish in 2008. As a pastoral counselor, Stew believes in a Hope-focused approach that integrates Scripture, faith, reason, and experience.

Tasha is the sweet and loving voice on the other end of the phone. She handles the scheduling of appointments throughout the day. She is compassionate and diligent for the ministry of our center. Tasha brings her education and experience in the health care industry to the center with grace. She is a wonderful wife and mother.

Melanie is our newest addition to staff. She is a student at the University of Houston majoring in Finance. She brings a wealth of business knowledge and experience. She is the other warm caring voice that helps handle scheduling in the late afternoon.
